Picture this.

I mean, it’s kind’ve self explanatory, but this is where the archive of my photos are kept. Pics that I don’t post on Instagram [including the ones that are], displaying all my creative shoot collaborations with photographing talented friends. I love creative direction, and one of my favorite self-loving past times is sitting in my room with some rockin’ music, kombucha, plush pillows with the beads that they put in shoe boxes [which serve no purpose because you can’t eat or touch them], and my computer in front of me creating editorial treatments of fashion and dramatics. Each Album is super meaningful, because each photo series is a visual explanation of a time period, personality revelation, chapter, or inspiration in my life. I try to explain the concept behind each series in the blurbs on the right! I think It’s always cool to look at these sorts of tings for inspiration.

The Weird Bird

“Here I am. Here you are. we are weird. we are stars. we get high. we get low, but we still shine, we still explode. We Fly, we float, we dance on airs, we make good picture, we make them stare. We may burst, and we may die, but our energy still remains alive….” - T.A.R.

This is my weird bird series, because I feel mostly out of place on Earth, and like I have this mismatched feather within me, that is unlike anyone i’ve ever met. I’m sure I have a flock awaiting my arrival to meet them, and sure, I may have found one or two with similar colors — similar sounds, But I have yet to find the clearest formation for who I would always want around. I think that life individually is most definitely a brave task, because I think we all yearn to belong in some way shape or form. Either that or we long for some sort of acceptance. For me, I just want to say to the girl or guy thats reading this message, who is just as weird as me. Here I am. Just like Frida, just like Freddy. I am weird too, and I encourage you. In fact, in this series, I give you my most honorable salute. Lets redefine “Freak”.

BookMarks.

I wanted to do a series that showed representation of my life through the incredible women I know. Each shot features one of the many amazing women in my life, in representation of a chapter or place that they hold a key part In [or to]. I think all of our lives are book, filled with stories, and there will always be parts of the story that are your favorite. Those parts you learn the most from, look forward to reading again [and in more depth]. The parts you can’t ignore. The parts that have shaped you into who you are and continue to guide you into what you want the future design of your life to be.

I honor these women for the demonstration of Loyalty, Confidence, Strength, Nurture, Guidance, Bravery, Talent, Beauty and what I find to be the most attractive quality in a woman : GRACE.

To all of the women in my life, I dedicate this series to you.

Emergence - See

After what could have been a very poisonous spiritual year, I decided that the best way to heal was making fun and jokes through my art, with every pun intended. My good friend decided to help me in portraying the perspectives I had in my mind on emergence. Social emergence is such a funny thing, because it makes you feel as if you’re that girl who just got a cast on from an embarrassing accident [like falling up the stairs], and whenever you run into a familiar face, you have to repeat the same poorly delivered performance and reenactment of how it happened. in the same sentence that they use to champion you, it also makes you feel like more of a victim and emotional butter on the inside. With that, they have now signed your emotional cast so they might as well sign the physical one saying, “tom was here, and I made her feel more insecure.” [if their name was tom….feel free to insert whatever name you like.] With that said, I wanted to beat everyone to the punch and also, tell my story in one full swoop to cover all bases, using my artwork. We decided to go with 3 Looks : a look that portrays Getting in Bed with myself again [awaking from my coma], one portraying the ‘gone missing’ incident [in full form: milking it for what its worth], and finally the revealing and acceptance of the real me, LowKey.

Hope you enjoy this as much as I did in collaboration with my wonderful friend, Lee Gumbs.

and to Lee, thank you for always accepting my truest in front of, and beyond your lens. I have unconditional respect and gratitude for you and appreciate the wonderful magic you bring into my life just by simply being who you are.
